Most rowing shells on the market have a useful racing life of 10 years, after that point to either refurbish, or replace them leaves rowers and clubs on the hook for thousands of dollars. This consistent cycle of turnover is a massive barrier to entry into the sport, but also a sizable financial burden on those who have already made the investment.
Our mission is to increase the environmental and financial sustainability of the sport. Working with old and unused shells to make them available to non-profit and entry level athletes. By working with an established community of clubs, programs, and independent owners we are able to keep shells, or parts of them on the water well past their typical life span.
We will come to you, and we appreciate any and all donations, do you have a shell that still has value? We will make you a fair offer. That old single you have rotting in two pieces in a loft, may have the bow that is the piece missing from putting another shell back on the water. Using these donations and purchased shells to train coaches and program directors with how to do their own shell repair, helps keep these boats and athletes on the water at an affordable price.
Every shell has a home somewhere, it is our mission to find it.
